A Guide to Perfect Men's Eyebrows

Men’s eyebrows need just as much TLC as women’s. Let’s run through Marco Benito’s top tips for men on how to perfect your eyebrow game.

With eyebrows being such a prominent feature on our face, eyebrows can make or break your look. They can alter your face and nose shape and ultimately change your whole vibe. Men often understand the importance of their haircut and their beard, but can sometimes neglect the finer details when it comes to features like eyebrows.

A lot of men are embarrassed to get cosmetic care like eyebrow treatment done, but this should be a thing of the past! So don’t be afraid to get yourself into Marco Benito and get those eyebrows touched up by our men’s grooming specialists – we have an extremely welcoming environment for all genders.

Now, let’s get into some of our tips for how to get the best eyebrows and remind you how important it is to keep on top of them.

Some absolute brow no-no’s

Firstly, let’s start off with some things you absolutely should not do to your precious eyebrows. The most important thing is to PUT DOWN THAT RAZOR! Many men are guilty of shaving their eyebrows, especially the space in between them. Razors can cause ingrown hairs, razor bumps, and make the hair to grow back even quicker.

Wax on, wax off

Waxing is a great way to remove hairs from the follicle instead of other methods which can increase the risks of ingrown hairs and rapid regrowth. It also gives you the little added benefit of exfoliation, as it removes dead skin cells as it’s removing the hair. Result! Marco Benito technicians only use the best products, so you don’t have to worry about skin irritation as it’s specially formulated to avoid this.

Benefits:

  • Waxing lyrical – Marco Benito waxing removes hair from the root.
  • If you’re over razor burn like we are, waxing gets rid of those annoying little bumps everyone dreads.
  • Waxing means that hair doesn’t grow back for four to six weeks!

Threading

Threading is one of the most ancient methods of hair removal, but remains one of the most effective. Threading uses a piece of organic cotton to hold the hair taut, twisting the thread and sweeping the knot along the skin. This movement captures each hair, lifting them out from the root. Again, this is a great way to avoid ingrown hairs and makes sure the hair stays at bay for the longest possible time. Threading gives incredibly accurate results – unlike waxing, it removes hairs on an individual basis and only removes hair, not any skin. This means the process causes less irritation to your skin.

Benefits:

  • Threading is an ancient process which gives long-lasting, accurate results. It’s much easier on your skin than other hair removal methods.
  • Our technicians do their best to make you feel relaxed during the process. Trust us – the results are worth it!
  • Threading is extremely time-efficient. The process is often completed in less than 15 minutes.

Frequency of your brow treatments

This totally depends on you are a person and the type of treatment. Some men can go weeks or even months without needing to have their eyebrows treated, whereas some men need a regular visit to Marco Benito every couple of weeks. Ultimately, whenever you want a brow tidy-up and a dose of That Benito Feeling, come and visit our Brow Bar!

Handy home tips for in between your Benito Brow visits

As we’ve talked about, it is definitely the best idea to get your eyebrows done professionally. However, we understand between visits you may need to give them some care yourself if you cannot get yourself to us for whatever reason. Here are some things to consider before you give your brows some TLC:

  • Before any eyebrow treatment, make sure you wash your face with warm water to relax hair follicles!
  • Plucking is a great way to keep those annoying strands of hair at bay between visits. When you pluck, make sure you don’t dig into your skin to grab the hair and cause irritation. Hold the skin taut, grab the base of the hair with the tweezer and gently pull. If you’re experiencing a lot of pain, this probably means you’re trying to pull out hair that isn’t ready yet. Give it a few more days and try again.
  • Snip snip! To cut those especially long rascals that are ruining your polished look, you can always trim them with some eyebrow scissors. Comb your eyebrows before snipping any hairs into shape.
  • Don’t forget to get those hairs in between your eyebrows! These can be the most noticeable as they’re hairs that don’t really look like they’re meant to be there (although the unibrow is actually making a bit of a comeback!).
  • After performing any treatment at home, make sure you wash your face and apply some facial moisturiser to reduce the risk of skin irritation and redness.
